Veterinarians

Dr. Heather White
Veterinarian, Hospital Director
Dr. Heather White graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College and has practiced for over 30 years. Dr. White continues to enjoy the practice of veterinary medicine, especially the relationships built with many long term clients.
Dr. John Valsamis
Veterinarian, Hospital Director
Dr. John Valsamis received his B.Sc. and D.V.M. from the University of Guelph. Since graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College over 30 years ago, Dr. Valsamis has practiced the medicine and surgery of dogs, cats, birds and exotics. His main focus has been in exotic animal medicine and surgery.
Dr. Alison Young
Veterinarian, H.B.Sc.
Dr. Alison Young completed her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science at the University of Guelph, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Ontario Veterinary College. She has worked and volunteered at a variety of clinics, farms and sanctuaries, with dogs, cats, companion avian and exotic species, horses, miniature donkeys and alpacas in Canada and abroad. She has a special interest in rabbit medicine and surgery, and has completed numerous continuing education courses in companion animal exotic pets. Currently, she has 1 cat, Nala, as well as a fresh water fish aquarium.
Dr. Urszula Korolczuk
Veterinarian, H.B.Sc.
Dr. Urszula Korolczuk has been drawn to animals ever since she can remember. After graduating from the University of Toronto with a degree in Zoology, Dr. Korolczuk obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Guelph’s Ontario Veterinary College in 2011. She has since worked in the GTA and surrounding area. She shares her life and home with her husband, “Lucy” their lovely standard poodle, “Eve” their ball python, and their falconry birds.

Veterinary Technicians

Carley
Veterinary Technician, H.B.Sc.
Carley graduated from the University of Toronto in 2003 with an Honours Bachelor of Science, with a double major in Biology and Psychology. She has been part of our team since July 2003. She contributes to many aspects of the hospital, as an on the job trained Veterinary Technician, groomer and with administration. She has special interests in exotic pet health, grooming, canine/feline dentistry and client education. On her days off she loves to spend time with her family. Carley also has two cats, “Willy” and “Shya”.
Katelyn
Registered Veterinary Technician, RVT
Katelyn graduated with honors from the Veterinary Technician program at Georgian College in 2014. She took the VTNE and became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2014. Katelyn has gained valuable experience over the years working at a few practices that treated dogs, cats and exotic animals. She currently has two guinea pigs named Vanna and Chimera as well as a 17 year old leopard gecko named T-bone.
Jennifer
Registered Veterinary Technician, RVT
Jennifer graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Sheridan College in April 2020. She successfully wrote her registration exam the following August and obtained her certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Jennifer loves working with all varieties of animals - both big, small, furry and scaled. Jennifer has a chocolate lab named Tess, as well as 2 cats named Bella and Stella.
Rachel
Veterinary Technician
Rachel graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Sheridan College in April 2021 and is currently preparing to write her registration exam to obtain her certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Prior to beginning her veterinary technician education Rachel volunteered at a vervet monkey rehabilitation facility in South Africa where she worked with orphaned babies, ex-pets, and wild monkeys alongside an international group of volunteers and staff.

Receptionists

Kristal
Head Receptionist
Kristal started with us in 1999. She started as a veterinary technician and is now our head receptionist. She graduated with a certification in Animal Care and has devoted her career to better the lives of animals. Kristal enjoys her personal time at home with her husband and son who share their home with “Jackson”, a shih-poo.
Nikki
Receptionist
Nicole (Nikki) received her animal care certificate at Sheridan College in 2015 and has since worked at boarding facilities and animal clinics in Ontario and British Columbia. She has a handsome 2yr old kitty named Linus, who she adopted in BC. In her spare time she enjoys going for bike rides, hikes, and snowboarding in the winter months.
Gloria
Receptionist
Gloria joined our team in 1995, after gaining experience in the veterinary field at another clinic. In her personal life she boasts a home with a rescued bearded dragon named “Pikachu” and a labradoodle named “TyBo”. “Luna”, a sweet young cat, is the newest addition to her family. She truly enjoys coming to work daily.
Grace
Receptionist
Grace graduated from McMaster University in 2018 with her B.A. in Sociology. Before she joined the Britannia Animal Hospital team in 2020, Grace spent time volunteering at a number of wildlife rehabilitation centers both locally and abroad. When she's not at work, she enjoys spending time with her cat, Zoey, as well as Jerry, the ball python she shares with her partner.

Tara
Veterinary Assistant
Tara graduated in 2013 with her Veterinary Medical Receptionist Certification from Olds College in Alberta, Canada. Since then she has worked at many different animal hospitals and boarding facilities. Tara joined our team in  November 2020. She has a 4yr old dog named Diesel that she enjoys going on hikes and road trips with.
Natalie
Veterinary Assistant
Natalie is currently studying at the University of Guelph for her Bachelor of Science with aspirations of becoming a veterinarian. She has been with us since 2018 and has a sassy Scottish fold named Pookie. In her spare time, she enjoys going for hikes, camping, and traveling.
